With 21 years of extensive experience in broadcast journalism, S.M. Sharfuddin Anam has built a proven track record in editorial strategy, including more than 18 years of prime-time news presentation and newsroom operations. Currently serving as Senior News Editor at Ekattor Television since 2012, he leads the planning, production, and delivery of timely, accurate, and engaging news content across both digital and traditional platforms. His role involves overseeing editorial teams, innovating content strategies, integrating audience analytics, and mentoring junior editors to uphold the highest editorial standards.

Specializing in multimedia storytelling, breaking news, and live coverage, he is well-versed in newsroom technologies such as Octopus and VIZ. His previous roles span several major Bangladeshi TV channels, including Maasranga Television, Jamuna Television, and RTV, where he contributed as a senior presenter, editor, and talk show host. Notable achievements include pioneering virtual studio-based news presentation during Bangladesh’s several National Elections and hosting over 100 episodes of RTV’s prime-time analytical talk show News Watch in the year 2006-07.

In addition to his newsroom responsibilities, he serves as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Film and Television at Pathshala, where he teaches news anchoring and various forms of on-camera presentation across multiple platforms. He has also worked as a critic for the Bangladesh Film Archive Journal and contributed articles on literature and contemporary socio-political issues to renowned newspapers and online news portals.
