Pathshala is the early school of Photography in South Asia region, which offers various short-term and long-term educational Programme in photography, film and multimedia journalism throughout the year. Started in 1998, the institution has slowly grown to become a fully-fledged photography educational institution based in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

S M Akash


S. M. Akash is a seasoned broadcast journalist, communications specialist, and media trainer with over three decades of experience in journalism, media development, and public communication. He currently serves as Head of News at Deepto TV and anchors the talk show Desh Bhabna. Akash is also the editor of the news portal www.deeptonews.com

Akash has worked in leading national and international media organizations and development programs, including UNDP’s Access to Information (a2i) Programme. He has been an adjunct faculty member at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) since 2015 and regularly conducts training on journalism, communication, and development.

He holds degrees in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Dhaka and has received international training from institutions such as the BBC and Thomson Foundation.
